A casting of a small urn carving taken from Blackstone Cemetery in Blackstone, Massachusetts. The epitaph reads: "In memory of Susannah, Daut. of Mr. Peleg Peckham & Mrs. Ann his wife, Died April 6th, 1813 In the 11th year of her age". Urns were a symbol of the vessel for one's mortal remains. Which reminds us of a saying---"Ashes to ashes, Dust to Dust, When being creamated, an urn is a must."
